La Guilde Allemande portrays a group of Landsknecht solders and their followers who have settled in the village of Petit Lyon in the pay of the King. These solders have taken to the French lifestyle, but they bring their own rowdy ways and add plenty of color to the village. In addition to solders and camp followers, they bring artisans, craftspeople, and their families, to establish a taste of the colorful, and often outrageous, Renaissance mercenaries through various displays, interactive demonstrations, and a recreation of a military camp and German structures.

The Scot's are in Lyon en-force to protect the interests of the Dauphine, Mary Stuart, Queen of Scots with their peculiar accents and strong sense of honor, and to protect the King of France with a troop of mercenary body guards.
